Handcrafted wooden stables and nativity figures by the sculptor and artist Ploner Gerhard: a family tradition from South Tyrol.
Setting up the nativity scene is one of the most popular customs and is highly valued not only during Advent and Christmas. Our nativity scenes impress with elaborately constructed wooden stables and expressive carved human and animal figures that depict the Christmas story, thus inspiring admiration not only for children. These unique wooden pieces are hand-painted with great attention to detail. Various small works of art come together to lovingly depict the birth of Jesus Christ and the individual nativity scenes. This long-standing tradition, which is still very relevant today, can thus be revived and provide a very special kind of tranquility.
Since 1995, I have been working with enthusiasm and joy in the sculpting company founded in 1978 and have devoted myself ever since to my great passion for nativity scenes.
